By mulching you are helping to keep your plants healthy.

Another plus about using mulch is that it traps the moisture in the soil, so that you should not have to water as often.

We like to recommend that a depth of three to four inches of mulch should be applied. If you apply less you run the risk of having weeds pop up through the mulch.

Ideally, your garden areas should be mulched twice a year; once in spring and once in the fall.

What we like to do is mulch the leaves into the turf. The yard is mowed with a mulching mower.

It is best that tree leaves are mowed regularly, not allowing them to lie on the turf for long periods of time.
